A Battle of Love

Published on Feb 4, 2002

May I hold your hand,
In the fading moonlight.
Where hope can only live in a thought
Rather than a life
To keep it safe.
But will the warmth
Of your love confuse,
The only true notion I have seen.

Shall desperation only know the heart
Of all those it has struck down
With its mighty axe.
Take this boy,
And make him a man
Who does not cry,
Nor shed a tear
For anyone, not even his own pain.

Without love this can only be known,
Where life has no hope,
When your heart is so far
From only one soul
That can care for—
Someone like you.
