A Phantom to Behold

Published on Jun 6, 2002

Wandering through the eyes,
Of all those I have seen.
Tracing a line in the hearts
Of the ones that I know.
This is my time to speak now
All the memories I can still hold on to,
Let the feet I use
Guide me on my way to you.

The destiny that we share,
A path we all know too well
And still can only fear to tread.
What an utter emptiness,
As life leads us along
Through the trees—
Among the horrors of the night
To the place my heart has been.

But not yet a prison,
Nor close to becoming a paradise in my mind.
As you look upon my eyes,
See all those that I love,
Understand the ones I have touched—
And know the memories I have not walked.
