Awakening in My Nightmare

Published on May 29, 2002

I can only see this painted picture,
Which fills me with unrelenting love.
And now I can only see so far
Beyond the gaze of all.
I am afraid of all that has not come to me
As my feet trace my path
Through the sand,
All the roads and streets.
I can only talk about what is now,
Final and pure.

But as wandering seems the only way,
My mind feels like a game is being played
With me in all the levels.
So pull me to the door,
And give me the grace to fall.
I would rather be swimming in the ocean,
With no certainties and sharks all around.

Nothing can be right here,
So much change,
Blurs of distant visions
Can only be noticed as part of my nightmare.
In a cold sweat it's over,
And I stumble to the floor.
