Beneath the Sheets

Published on Aug 24, 2009

I intertwine my fingers within the
tangles of your brown locks.
Breathing in the familiar nectar
that I find only in a quiet
night with you.
Why do I sneak words into
your ears?
What is about you that makes
me wish for the night never to
end?

Your soft, succulent body
I want wrapped in my arms,
and what I want is
my sweet lover to be with me
in the heart of the day
lying with nothing, but the soft
sheets to cover our
tired forms.

To love you is what
I need, and to have you to
love is what
I want.

"One love is all that we need, but to whom shall we give the kind of love that
God wants us to have."
