Convictions
I am a man whose convictions are being tested. The world never seems to skip a beat When it comes to beating me down A notch Or two The thoughts of the things around Fill my mind with hatred and dread I think that the world sometimes Must be coming to an end.
When I walk by someone in need My heart hurts When I don’t say something when someone needs an encouraging word My heart hurts When I don’t hold the door for someone who needs it My heart hurts When I don’t pray and forget that God is watching My heart breaks in two
I am a man, a leader who is expected to do something Something small and insignificant for the cause Or something great to reshape a tiny life. We are the winds of change and I must be one The world watches me a man of convictions A man without a plan And I always say, “Yes!” When all I mean is sure as long as I can stay in my box.
