Curse My Destiny

My place is unknown,
Thrown through time like a game of chess—
To be is no important
As what should be now in this time.
Nothing can fade,
With this memory that I possess
In the thick,
And out among the thin—
Does this place really seem so uncertain?
To deny my one simple pleasure,
To hold and touch you—
It was such a hopeful state of mind,
But now the hazards have stood against it—
Knowing their place
Trying to keep me from you
And all I have to give.
Touch this soul as I communicate this,
A lasting impression of beauty,
Of your sweet elegance in the face
Of that part of your heart—
To which I long to feel beat
As I hold you close.
