Gods of War

In folklore we worship the gods,
A species of supernatural beings.
With everlasting knowledge,
And spirits of a heavenly presence.

They watch over us and help us along,
But if they truly want to help us.
Why do they let us be in poverty?
And in shambles, with a broken heart?
If they truly are beings of a higher order,
Then why can’t they see the mistakes,
That even themselves have.

For if you are made in the image of God,
And you as a man are flawed.
Then would not God himself be flawed,
In his own nature.
Nothing’s perfect,
We are all the Gods of our own war.
