In My Dreams

In my dreams I see you, and in my life
I wish to hold you closer to me.
One night, one day and each
stretched at either end of our lives
is the amount of time I need,
a lifetime to tell these wondrous
things to you.

You are beautiful, gorgeous in every singular
way from your hair falling in front
of your eyes, a smile that lights me up
as much as it lights the surrounding room,
and how you rub my head when I fall
asleep in your arms and you forget that I'm
still awake.

For all the tightest squeezes that bind
me to you, and the kisses of passion that we
share. Each wanting just one more before
we go, but we never know when or
how to stop.

Only the tip of my iceberg for you,
a shallow thought upon a blank page
that hopes for more and you're
the one I cherish each moment your around,
like a treasured vase--handed to me by
God Himself.
