In My Only Time
If I could see those eyes,
Just one more time before an end came to me—
I would never wish for anything more
As I do wish for this now.
That smile which made me cry,
And such a laugh,
To make me smile just to admire.
Who can make this night feel as warm
As an afternoon,
Her arms so soft as to hold heaven
In its ultimate touch.
Where life is but a word to be uttered
And never forgotten as long as this time is known.
Who are we to judge,
Where nothing is known, except that it is here
As long as I’m alive
Life shall lead this path to me,
When my heart is weak
As faith forgets me in its last step
On its own journey through time.
Vanilla in her hair I can still smell,
And see rose petals in her hands
As her hug encompasses me.
She is all I know,
My mind does not know any others
Where her love is my own.
Now is the time I ask,
Her heart and mind
Parts I do not know, but wish to grasp—
She cannot know me,
See me or hear my only voice
So soft and tragic as it fades
Her tears are my mute,
As I cry with her pain, torture—
Where she knows no love in her heart.
Will I fill her,
My only love,
My only mindless thought of an end to this.
Such pain as to not love another,
But far worse to watch,
And not aid in happiness’s touch.
I thought a man like me could not dream,
As to hold someone as close as I did you,
That night where time was my friend—
End to ends, life to life
Hopeless beginnings to never endings.
My love for you shall always be mine,
When life may lead me astray
I will find my strength in your eyes—
Embracing you in my arms.
While the sun fades, behind mountains of gold.
Inside this last true day,
Where my dreams are of you.
