Inside a Shattered Dream

How does it feel?
To know what you want
From the world around you.
Hold your place
And grip the life you’ve known,
Just play with the words—
That you now read,
Bring them to light and hold them in your hand.
Tear down the walls of terror,
And free the minds of desperation.
Come to me,
Now and until the night turns to day.
Become what God has made you—
Return to the garden
And sit among the pale trees of might,
Just imagine—
A platform extending from the shore
Into a lake of sparkling blue,
With trees dipping their branches to drink the water,
And swaying in the dusk of day.
Birds are chirping and feeding their young,
Preparing for the long night ahead.
An image of peace like none before,
As you sit and watch the sun fade among the clouds.
