My View

Published on Sep 18, 2002

I view the hills from my bedroom window,
Hugging my blanket
To keep myself warm.

As if I wielded the sun
To break free from the ground,
Splashing orange, gold and red
Across my eyes.
The light is almost blinding,
But I don’t seem to blink.
The heat is brilliant and warm,
But my blanket still stays close.

This is the view from my bedroom window,
Where I stood, with my blanket close—
Watching a creation of godly nature
Rise in a rebirth of colors
And light.
