Nothing to Fear

Published on Mar 17, 2002

My dream begins to fade—
Hopes and desires slowly drop away.
As my emotion sets in, a glimmer of sight
Returns to my restful eye.

Jaded paths rise and fall,
Winding round mountains of emerald gold.
Shade does not find its place here—
For miles of earth
Is barren from the trees
And in an ugly fate their roots cannot set a home
Where life does not tread.

The ground pierces the soles of my feet,
For here imagination comes true
With reality juggling a thin line
Between horror and happiness.

When my mind leaves this land,
A feeling of loneliness sets forth a greater fear
That even I cannot shake—
Because my home lies within these walls
That has nothing to fear.
