Thankful to be Wanted

Started here but will not end here,
Is where this journey towards my peace
Shall begin,
But where will it end—
Has yet to be seen or heard.

Well to my knowledge
My growth as an individual; not tainted
And salted by the power of people.
Has taken a powerful understanding
Of this horror, between the goodness of all
And the evil thoughts of a selective few.
But yet to this—
I still shall hold my heart,
When you hold my heart,
Surrounded by my thankfulness.

For this world is cruel and unusual,
But I still love it as my home...
