The Fallen of Wars Gone Past

Their names rest upon this wall,
Bringing life to where death now proceeds,
Faith is now well within shattered dreams.
Shall they see the beauty of dear light—
For nothing can fill their souls any more,
As they have passed from life,
But not without a price to pay...
It crept upon them as an unsung hero,
What was given to us?
And “disrespect” is all the men and women have learned,
Who live within bloody borders
That would never have stayed in our name.
