The Hardest Part

Published on Feb 24, 2023

As nothing before has come,
I have always dreamed
To look upon your eyes
Gaze into them
Like a jeweler does a diamond.
Finding every perfection
And fault if there is one to find.
But its not fear that stops me—
Yet uncertainty that makes its way,
Through my mind
My heart and soul,
Among the curls of my shirt.

I know not what needs be done,
Now the time is falling,
The day has given its brother the task
Of shadowing the earth.
Blocking me from you,
From the silk blonde hair
I love so much.
And the white sweater that smells
Of peaches...
Do I miss it
Or is the hardest thing
Not knowing if you will come back.
