Time is But a Thing

Time is but a mindless thing,
Challenging all those who dare tread
Where it has ultimately laid claim.
None but a few
Can ever hope to escape
Its grueling clasp—
Tearing the flesh from your bones
As you scream in terror.
Hope is far from this beast,
That can turn the young to dust
If only given time to act upon
Its fearful nature of sorts.
Create pain for the beast,
Prepare your blade and axe for battle—
Sharpened to its very end
And to not run,
Because you shall win
If your fear does not overpower your love for life.
