Walked Within the Shadows

I have walked within the shadows,
Seen the unforgiving bellows
From an unrelenting world.
Compassion is my undoing,
As both my heart and mind
So shallow in their despair
Shatter the bonds that have kept it impaired.
Though through the darkness
A light still shines brighter and bolder,
Than a thousand candle lights.
I still feel bare as I see
My savior, My forgiver
His hands bring relief
From an unrelenting world,
While silencing their unforgiving bellows
Merely with his whisper.
Be free from me,
As I drop to my knees
Thankful to be free
From the fire—
And the shadows of the light.
