I have walked within the shadows,
Seen the unforgiving bellows
From an unrelenting world.
Compassion is my undoing,
As both my heart and mind
So shallow in their despair
Her voice was sweet to the touch,
With my ears waiting to hear,
The supple tones that only she could bring me
Nothing but tears shall feel me
With her echo beginning to fade from my mind-
When destiny seems to fade,
For what its worth now...
Everything can only be counted by a single dice throw
Or however the fates decide to partake
In life’s only worthy game.
To death with thine open eyes,
You are the one I miss the most,
Dreams of all your triumphs,
And those truly embarrassing frustrations
Just to name a few.
Youth was our ambition
As little more than arrogance ran through us.
Our year to rule,
My eyes are beginning to feel weary,
There night is near—
While my mind still yearns to talk
Upon devil’s toes
And nightingales midnight moon.
It waits for no one,
But yields as if wanting one to cherish—
Fate is what we make it,
Just as time is what we tell it.
Wielding the greatest powers of all
But truly never knowing who we are to be
And how to use the knowledge we already have.
It only hurts when I breathe,
Who am I to tread this great divide,
To hope when my chance to shine—
Shall implode on this long day
That like thousands of others have passed
But in this moment
Where am I meant to be.
Those who have their place
My dreams begin to fade,
As the gentle touch of rain
Washes over my face.
And you are still in my arms
With me wondering the future before us.
How did we meet,
In a bar or was it during my wandering madness’—
I look into your eyes,
But my sight is blinded by your light—
Such a bright star innocent from all pain,
And your love is unlike all others.
Theres nothing I want more,
Than to watch what may come our way
I was there when you fell from me,
In so many ways I could never believe.
Loved you with every fiber that I was—
Knew the scent you wore,
The way you tied your hair
And what made you smile when you were sad.
